      Introduction

Colsterworth Methodist Pre-School is a thriving group that caters for young children from Colsterworth and surrounding villages, e.g. Sewstern, Gunby.  We offer children the opportunity to learn through play in a stimulating and nurturing environment, which in turn gives parents the opportunity to work, train or spend time with younger siblings.

The Pre-School hall is part of the Methodist Church that was established more than 150 years ago, with the hall being built in the early 20th century.  Colsterworth Pre-School was established in 1973 and has been running successfully and continually since then, with some of the founder members still taking a keen interest in how the Pre School is doing. The Pre-School is a committee-run not-for-profit organisation.

      Our aims are :-

Ÿ         To enhance the development and education of children under statutory school age in a parent-involving, community-based group through a variety of structured play activities.

Ÿ         To provide a safe, secure and stimulating environment

Ÿ         To work within a framework which ensures equality of opportunity for all children and families.

      We offer your child:

Ÿ         A carefully planned curriculum leading to approved learning outcomes

Ÿ         Individual care and attention made possible by a high ratio of adults to children

Ÿ         Fun and friendship with children and other adults

Ÿ         The support of a personal key worker

Ÿ         Opportunities for you and your family to be directly involved in the activities of the group and in your child’s progress
